Hi all! Well, where to start? I began volunteering for Radio Grapevine in 2012 and it was one of the best decisions I have made. Joining the Thursday night team with the fabby Shelley Nobile and Tony Grant and all of my fellow request collectors and producers brightened up my week and was great getting to play some Daniel O’donnell for the patients (and Tony loves him, too!). I was given the chance to cover some shows and practice presenting by Keith Crombie, and was somewhat very shaky to start off with, but with a good bit of practice I am beginning to settle into the role quite nicely.

My interest in radio stems from when I was younger, whether it was Robin and Cat on Real Radio or later on, Chris Moyles and the breakfast team on Radio 1, they always brightened my day with the fun they had, and I hope that I can bring my own fun to the patients of St John’s! 

I consider myself to be bubbly and chatty, and after talking to me for a few hours you’ll soon realise that my music taste is in no way centred around a particular genre. When I was eleven I became interested in the likes of Take That and throughout my childhood I remember dancing at discos to Atomic Kitten and Mcfly. However as the years have progressed, I have opened my mind to the sounds of Kings of Leon and Kasabian, along with a bit of Jack Johnson and Ben Howard. I don’t mind the odd wee listen to the charts here and  there, and my love for Fleetwood Mac will never die. 

Some of you may hear a few of the presenters refer to me as ’Rob-y-n’. This quickly became my nickname after a joke was shared between the Thursday night team and I haven’t looked back (mainly because I can’t shake it). 

I think Radio Grapevine do a fantastic job around St John’s and the members strive for the best entertainment throughout the week. Three cheers for Grapevine! (Hip hip…)
